DIESEL MECHANIC TRAINEE, MARINE

Svendsen’s Bay Marine is a full-service boatyard located in Richmond California on San

Francisco Bay. We haul-out and repair sail and power yachts, Coast Guard vessels, water

taxis, tugboats, pilot boats and marine vessels of all kinds. We are factory certified dealers for

Volvo Penta, Northern Lights/Lugger, John Deere, Cummins, Suzuki Repower Center, Steyr

Engines and Hamilton Jet.

We are looking for individuals with prior basic training in diesel engine mechanics, particularly

military training, for our Marine Diesel Mechanic Trainee program. Work under the

supervision of experienced marine diesel mechanics with the goal to develop rapidly into a

fully competent journeyman marine diesel mechanic. Daily tasks range from basic engine

service to complete vessel repowers. This position requires an ambitious, hard working

individual with excellent mechanical ability and the desire to quickly develop skill in the

diagnosis and repair of engine, transmission and generator mechanical and electrical

systems.
