Diesel Mechanic | Up to $70,000 Annual Salary | Quarterly Bonus | 2nd shift 2p-10p
Job Description:
•Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery.
•Replace brake shoes/pads, replace leaking wheel seals.
•Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
•Be able to use diagnostic software to perform tests on faulty systems on trucks.
•Use hand tools, such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, or precision instruments, as well as power tools, such as pneumatic wrenches, lathes, welding equipment, or jacks and hoists.
•Must be able to look up issues on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports and accurately correct issues to DOT standards.
•Knowledge of air brake systems.
•Rewire ignition systems, lights, and instrument panels.
•Specialize in repairing and maintaining parts of the engine, such as fuel injection systems and electrical systems.
•Perform Annual DOT inspections.
•Align front ends and suspension systems.
•Diagnose and repair vehicle heating and cooling systems.
•Adjust or repair computer-controlled exhaust emissions devices.
•CDL preferred, or ability to obtain.
•Complete inventory reports monthly to insure accurate parts on hand.
•Log billable time on a maintenance software program for tracking.
