The Farmers Reservoir and Irrigation Company (FRICO) is a mutual ditch company that was incorporated in 1902. FRICO's business office is in Brighton, Colorado. The FRICO system consists of four major and several smaller reservoirs and approximately 400 miles of canals extending from the Front Range foothills to east of Greeley, Colorado.
FRICO is seeking a Full-Time Mechanic in the Brighton area. Work days are Monday through Friday. 40 to 50 hours a week.
*Good work ethic and the ability to work well with others.
*Ability to work in the field or remote locations.
*At least 5 years experience as a diesel mechanic.
*Must have own basic hand tools, up to 1 1/8”.
*Knowledge of tractor-trailer systems and components is advantageous.
Duties include but are not limited to:
*Maintaining and servicing FRICO’s fleet, including all pickups, trucks, trailers, and equipment. Equipment ranges in size from mini excavator up to 90,000 lb excavators and bulldozers. Basic services include oil samples, filters, grease unit, checking for broken or weak parts, lights, oil levels, wipers, glass, brakes, controls, checking for leaks, and repairs as needed.
*Must have the ability to troubleshoot complex problems in modern heavy equipment and perform major services as well.
*Communicating with Field Superintendent on all equipment costs and repairs.
*Maintain accurate records of repairs performed and parts used.
*Safety and efficiently operating all equipment and tools within the company.
*A valid driver's license and clean driving record.
*Must be a U.S. citizen or possess a permanent work visa.
The hourly range for this position depends on experience and qualifications. The selected applicant will be subject to a background investigation and drug test. Excellent benefit package including vacation, holidays, health benefits, and 401(k) is available to the successful candidate.
