Diesel Mechanic

Morrow Energy is looking to add to our growing team in Houston, TX at our Blue Ridge Renewables location!

Job Summary:

Morrow Energy is seeking an experienced Deisel Mechanic. The Deisel Mechanic, under the supervision of the Mechanic Supervisor, will be responsible for inspection, service, maintenance, and operations of our range of heavy-duty construction equipment to side-by-side ATVs. To ensure success as a Deisel Mechanic, you should have proven experience working with a wide range of machinery, be physically fit, and be able to troubleshoot issues on the job site.

The position also requires manual labor, significant outdoor work, proficiency in effective communication, and working with a team to achieve desired results.

Key Responsibilities:

· Inspection of heavy equipment for proper performance

- Diagnosing faults using testing equipment

- Extensive experience in diesel mechanics

- Repairing damaged equipment parts

- Cleaning, lubricating, and conducting routine service on all heavy equipment

- Cleaning and servicing of machine attachments like winches, blades, and side booms

- Performing major repair work when necessary

- Reporting damaged or faulty equipment to management

- Operate vehicles with safety precautions in place

- Actively participates in improving operations and implementing best practices.

- Works as part of a team under strict deadlines

- Expected to work in a variety of extreme weather conditions

- Maintenance licensing and certification on all vehicles

- Communicating with coworkers to explain project specifications, as needed

- Providing suggestions to refine workflow, boost efficiency, or improve design

- Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.

Position Requirements:

· Clean driving Record.

· Successfully pass a pre-employment (post offer) drug screen, background check, and motor vehicle records check.

· Leadership qualities.

· Able to initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.

· Able to work on projects individually, as part of a team, and act as a team leader.

· Excellent communication skills.

· Sharp decision-making skills, particularly when under pressure.

· Ability to work extended hours, as required.

· Initiative in problem solving

· Responsible attitude toward work

· Able to respond to inquiries and emergencies from the field

Equipment that will be provided:

- Tools (hand and power)

- All required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, steel toe/puncture resistant boots, gloves, safety vest, etc.)

- Diagnostic equipment

- 4-Gas analyzer for field safety (portable and/or stationary)

- Cell Phone and Field Radio

- Operating and equipment manuals

- Safety protection equipment, portable generator & pumps

Standard Operating Days/Hours:

Monday – Friday 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (not to exclude weekends, overtime and rotating on-call

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
