Job Title: Die Cutter
General Purpose of the Position:
Reprocesses all types of dies used at Central Wire as well as maintaining the die stock and equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Understand wire drawing die geometry
- Reprocess dies according to specs
- Maintain die stock and machines
- Set-up and operate machine tools, ultrasonic cleaners, ultrasonic die machines and polishers
- Pull wire or rod through die manually
- Measure wire and rod, using measuring instruments e.g. micrometer to verify conformance of die to specification
- Complete required paperwork
- Perform close, intricate and detailed work
- Ensure and observe all safety and housekeeping rules and guidelines
- Other duties as assigned
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Ability to read and write
- Ability to interpret drawings, follow instructions and use simple math and basic measuring tools with accuracy
- Ability to use a microscope
- Basic computer skills for data entry purposes, excel, word, outlook
- Excellent time management skills with ability to work independently with little supervision
- Clear communication skills
- Ability to perform multiple tasks
