Position

Core Cutter, Nunavut

Location and Reporting Structure

Reporting to the Manager, Exploration, this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.

Responsibilities

- Operating and maintaining a manual electric diamond blade core saw and associated ventilation system;

- Following sequential numbering systems for core sampling;

- Reporting on work completed to Supervisor;

- Assist in geochemical sampling;

- Participating in daily toolbox meetings to promote compliance to B2Gold Nunavut’s safety policies and procedures; and

- Prioritize health and safety in all aspects of work.

Desired Competencies and Requirements

- Prior experience in a core cutting position using a manual electric diamond blade core saw (required);

- Prior experience working in a remote camp setting with limited access to resources (required);

- Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to work in a small team, and independently;

- Physically able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs., walk and stand for long periods of time and perform physical labour; and

- WHIMS Certification and/or Level 1 First Aid considered an asset

Compensation and Benefits

For informational purposes, the estimated annual earnings are $88,192.00 for 2184 scheduled hours (combined regular hourly rate of $32.00 and overtime rate of $48.00) in a work year.
