Bit Service Company Ltd. is a Saskatchewan manufacturer and distributor of mining products and equipment, founded in 1965.
Locally owned and operated, employing professionals between Esterhazy and our head office in Saskatoon, we have grown to provide full design, fabrication and repair of cutting assemblies for underground mining and tunnelling equipment, including cutting optimization and wear reduction.
Reporting to the Continuous Improvement Engineer, the Design Engineer will play a key role in developing and refining designs within Bit Services Company Ltd.
· FEA simulation of mechanical and thermal conditions
· Collaborate with engineers, production, other team members to resolve design challenges and refine details
· Perform calculations and material specifications as required for design accuracy and feasibility
· Review and revise drawings based on feedback or changes in project scope
· Participate in the rapid prototyping and alternative design processes
· Ensure drawings meet organizational and industry standards
· Create detailed product specifications and performance criteria
· Analyze and report on collected data from R&D work and field trials
· Implement methodologies where appropriate to improve efficiency
· Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field with 3-5 years experience.
· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Self-starter with a hands-on approach and the ability to work collaboratively with technicians, engineers, and management.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently
· Process control and/or project management capabilities (considered an asset)
