Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Design Engineer to lead the design and development of innovative products and components. In this role, you will utilize advanced engineering techniques to drive the design process, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate across departments to ensure project success.
Job Duties
- Lead the design and development of complex products from initial concept to final production.
- Utilize CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) to create, test, and refine 3D models and prototypes.
- Conduct research and data analysis to inform design decisions and continuously improve product performance.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality assurance, and marketing teams to ensure design feasibility and alignment with customer and business needs.
- Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to junior engineers and interns.
- Develop and maintain design documentation, including performance criteria, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Evaluate and recommend materials based on functionality, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Enhance user experience by focusing on product functionality, ergonomics, and usability.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies and implement best practices in design and engineering processes.
- Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately.
- Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.).
- Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in product design and development.- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and other design tools.
- Strong project management skills with a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams.
