The City of Orange City is seeking a Deputy Development Services Director following the retirement of the Department Director after nine years of building and leading an highly regarded and recognized department, and the subsequent promotion of the previous Deputy Director. Eligible candidates should demonstrate a background of proven success in municipal planning & zoning, building, land use, permitting, historic preservation, and CRA management.

The immediate responsibilities of that the Deputy Development Services Director will assume include:
Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Urban or Regional Planning or another related field
A minimum of four (4) to six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in the field of technical or administrative planning capacity
A comparable amount of training, education or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications
The salary range for the Deputy Directory Development Services is $86,160.77 to $119,418.83, a competitive health and medical benefits package, membership in the Florida Retirement System (FRS), 4 weeks of paid time off (PTO) accrued per fiscal year, with no annual rollover limit and no accumulation cap, and accrual increases every 5 years. The Deputy Development Services Director is offered an optional "9/80" work week, where the incumbent works 7:30am - 5:30pm Monday through Thursday, 8:00am through 5:00pm every other Friday, with the opposite Friday as a scheduled day off.
