The Delivery Dispatcher plays a vital role in ensuring efficient daily operations and delivering exceptional service to customers.
This position requires a high level of comfort with dispatching and routing systems, strong communication skills, the ability to manage delivery exceptions while creating and maintaining a realistic, achievable delivery schedule.
Success in this role depends on strong organization skills, attention to detail, analytical mindset, teamwork, and adaptability in a fast-paced, often changing environment.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers throughout the day, providing real-time support, updates, and issue resolution.
- Updating information in company software.
- Escalate equipment issues (vehicles, tanks, monitors) or other concerns to the appropriate departments.
- Review and investigate delivery exceptions and make appropriate corrective actions.
- Forecast deliveries for new customer accounts and remove delivery stops as directed by the Service Department.
- Provide courteous and professional phone support to customers regarding delivery schedules and general inquiries.
- Proven experience in dispatching or logistics management is preferred.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data effectively.
- Comfortable using technology.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work Saturdays when necessary
