Day Porter - Full Time

Job Summary

The Day Porter will maintain the lobby and common areas client’s building. Main tasks will include mopping floors, wiping down windows, dusting fixtures, and emptying trash. The Day porter will also service the outdoor area and restrooms. During certain seasons, may need to clear walkways leading up to the building. Our ideal candidate is someone who will take pride in keeping the building to client standard, clean, and comfortable for all visitors.

Duties and Responsibilities

•

Maintain cleanliness of the lobby, school site, and other common areas.

•

Spot mop floors and place caution signs.

•

Vacuum rugs.

•

Sweep parking areas as needed.

•

Wipe down window glass and elevator surfaces.

•

Dust fixtures, countertops, and other surfaces.

•

Empty trash.

•

Service restrooms.

•

Perform any other tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

•

Follow all safety procedures, policies, and manufacturer instructions applicable. Responsible for prevention (or proactive)

•

Wear all personal protective equipment as required.

•

Responsible for maintaining appropriate attendance and hygiene according to departmental and position standards.

•

Is punctual in arriving to work, meetings, and following other schedules. Always maintain confidentiality.

Requirements and Qualifications

•

High school diploma or GED certificate preferred.

•

Janitorial or maintenance experience preferred.

•

Valid driver's license preferred.

•

Be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

•

Familiarity with common cleaning supplies and hand tools.

•

Ability to work outdoors.

•

Friendly demeanor.
