- Applicants must have housing accommodations or transportation in the Calgary area, as Precision does not provide internship housing.

- By May 4, 2026, applicants must have completed at least their first year of study in a post-secondary program/Technical Institute (see job posting).

Summary

The Data Analyst will support Precision’s Alpha™ Technologies through the development of data solutions that improve accessibility and usability of operational information. This role involves working with large datasets, performing data validation, and assisting in the creation of consolidated reporting structures. The intern will collaborate with multiple teams to gather requirements and ensure data is accurate, consistent, and ready for analysis.

Responsibilities

- Assist in designing and maintaining data models and reporting tables

- Validate and clean data from multiple sources to ensure integrity

- Document data definitions and mapping logic for transparency

- Develop insights by building reports and visualization solutions (Python, SQL, Power BI, Grafana)

- Utilize SQL, Python, Snowflake, and Azure data sources

- Collaborate with data engineering, data science, and business stakeholders to understand reporting needs

Education

- 2nd year or higher pursuing or recently completed a degree or technical diploma in Computer Science, Analytics, Engineering or related

Experience

- Relevant experience in business intelligence, data analysis, data science, and/or business analysis is an asset

- Experience writing Python is beneficial

- Experience with SQL and relational databases

- Experience with data modeling and transformation

- Proficient in Power Bi reporting and suite of tools

- Familiarity working with Grafana is an asset

- Familiarity working with Snowflake Data Warehouse is an asset

- Oil & Gas experience is a plus
