We are seeking an experienced and reliable Grounds Maintenance Crew Leader to oversee a small team of 1 to 2 crew members in providing exceptional lawn care and landscaping services. This role is crucial in ensuring our residential, commercial, and HOA properties are maintained to the highest standards.
Overview:
The Crew Leader will take charge of daily operations, working hands-on with the team to complete tasks such as mowing, trimming, edging, mulching, and property clean-up. As the team consists of 1 to 2 people, this role requires someone who can lead by example and actively participate in all aspects of the work.
Key Responsibilities:
•Review the day’s schedule with the administrative team each morning.
•Ensure all tools, equipment, and materials are loaded and ready for the day.
•Supervise and assist in loading/unloading during roll-in and roll-out.
•Perform routine checks on trucks, trailers, and equipment, including oil, fluids, tire pressure, and blade maintenance.
•Lead the team by working alongside them to complete all tasks efficiently and to a high standard.
•Train team members on proper techniques, safety protocols, and equipment use.
•Operate routing software to manage schedules and update job notes as necessary.
•Serve as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring satisfaction with services provided.
•Track labor hours and ensure efficient use of time and resources.
•Maintain a safe, drug-free work environment by enforcing all company policies.
•Prepare the team and equipment for snow removal operations during the winter season.
•Communicate regularly with leadership to address any challenges or improvements.
Requirements:
•Must be 21 years of age or older.
•Valid DOT physical certification or ability to obtain one.
•Reliable transportation to and from work daily.
•Legal authorization to work in the United States.
•Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license (if driving position).
•Ability to lift 50 pounds or more on a daily basis.
•Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
•Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage a small team.
•2 Years previous experience as a crew leader in grounds maintenance or landscaping is required.
•Snow removal experience, including operating plows and salting equipment, is preferred.
