The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from: $131,483 - $164,354.
Job Summary:
Avangrid is looking for an experienced attorney to help support the Avangrid procurement function and assist internal clients with negotiations, contract drafting, approval and execution of procurement contracts, non-disclosure agreements, strategic partnership agreements, and intercompany agreements and other business contracts.
This position will report directly to the Vice President – Deputy General Counsel and Assistant Corporate Secretary of Avangrid.
Key Responsibilities:
•Assists internal clients with negotiation, contract drafting, approval and execution of procurement contracts, nondisclosure agreements, strategic partnership agreements, and intercompany agreements and other business contracts.
•Responsible for assisting internal clients with contract term interpretation, contract enforcement and disputes, and warranty claims.
•Works closely with clients, other in-house counsel, company management, and, in certain matters, outside counsel.
•Assists with governance and compliance efforts, including compliance with applicable federal and state laws and regulations as well as corporate policies and procedures.
•Works with the Legal Business Office on various legal operations projects. Including, without limitation the company’s new contract lifecycle management platform.
•Supports the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel and perform other projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
•J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school and admission to the bar of Maine, Connecticut or New York, or ability to waive into the Maine bar, and a minimum of 3 years of relevant legal experience.
•Self-motivated, resourceful, experienced and agile to handle a broad range of contractual matters, including ability to multitask.
•A good team player, well-organized, and able to identify business-oriented solutions to complex legal problems.
•Excellent oral and written communication, problem solving, analytical, organizational and negotiating skills with demonstrated ability to achieve results.
•Excellent case and project management skills.
•Demonstrated attention to detail and presents high-quality work.
•Creative mind for finding solutions to complex issues.
•Excellent interpersonal skills as a proven team player, to work, promote and collaborate, including the ability to provide cross-functional support.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Spanish language proficiency.
