SUMMARY: Analyzes blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for new products, engineering changes, or other manufacturing-related services by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Analyzes and prepares RFQ for feasibility review with department manager.
- Discuss feasible RFQs with the department manager to determine quote parameters.
- Logs RFQ and compiles appropriate information to develop quotes. Communicates with the Commercial Manager and customers to gather necessary information to develop quotes.
- Prepares RFQs for external suppliers as required: tooling, gaging, raw material, plating & heat treating, etc.
- Consults with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
- Prepares estimate by compiling and entering data into the quote template or customer spreadsheet.
- Compiles all quote data for presentation to the department manager for approval.
- Occasionally may be asked to oversee simple engineering projects.
- May require travel to various locations to review tooling and production process to aid in quote development.

- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent; or five to ten years related experience and/or training in the tooling and metal stamping industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Must have strong computer skills and experience in the use of Excel & Word
- Must be experienced in the use of CAD software for design or part analysis.
- Must be experienced with Outlook Mail, Calendar & Tasks.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is usually in a moderately noisy office environment, but occasionally is exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration while in the production area. The noise level in the plant environment is usually loud. Earplugs and safety glasses are required while in the production area. The facility is air-conditioned.
