General Summary:
Provide legal guidance on a broad range of corporate matters, including commercial transactions, compliance, governance, and regulatory issues surrounding Rainbow Energy Center and its affiliates. Partners with internal stakeholders to support the company's strategic goals while mitigating legal risk.
Key Responsibilities:
•Provides legal counsel on a wide array of corporate matters, including contracts, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, operations and general business operations.
•Prepares, reviews, and negotiates a wide range of contracts, agreements, and legal documents.
•Drafts, reviews, and negotiates complex commercial agreements, including vendor, customer, licensing, confidentiality, and power purchase agreements.
•Assists in the development and implementation of internal policies, procedures, and training programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
•Advises management and business units on emerging legal and regulatory developments affecting the energy industry.
•Identifies and mitigates legal risks associated with various business activities and transactions.
•Monitors and advises on compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
•Keeps abreast of changes in laws, regulations, and legal precedents that impact Rainbow Energy Center.
•Advises the executive leadership team on the potential legal ramifications of proposed organizational policies and procedures.
•Strategizes with executive leadership team on tax, legislative, regulatory and compliance matters.
•Provides supervision to outside lawyers hired to assist Rainbow Energy Center with their specialized legal services.
•Negotiates all legal matters on behalf of Rainbow Energy Center and its affiliates.
•Protects the organization’s rights in its interactions with external parties.
•Performs factual and legal research and analysis.
•Stays up to date with relevant environmental regulations and standards to ensure Rainbow Energy Center’s initiatives adhere to legal requirements and permits.
•Collaborates with outside counsel on specialized matters, as needed.
•Supports the Board of Directors and executive team on governance matters and corporate filings.

Education & Experience
Knowledge typically acquired through a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration or related field and a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and at least five (5) years of experience practicing corporate law is required.

•Familiar with key legal issues surrounding Rainbow Energy Center
•Ability to prepare clear, concise, and accurate legal documents.
•Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
•Ability and responsibility to work safely alone and within a team while following REC safety rules, certifications and procedures.
•Ability and responsibility to ensure security procedures are followed including immediate notification of potential incidents.
