Safety Focus
•Ensures compliance with Safety Standards as required by law and company policy
•Ensures the safety of employees on the shift
•Supports the safety programme and all safety efforts. Conducts or ensures safety training is completed
Production Focus
•Ensure that the operations run at maximum efficiency and maximum quality of product by:
+ Coordinating the efforts of employees within the shift
+ Monitor operators and equipment to spot problems at an early stage, and promptly correct or bring them to the attention of the appropriate person who can correct them
•Contribute to continuous improvement and foster contributions from other particularly with regard to quality and production efforts. Actively participate in plant steering meetings and project/work teams as needed
Quality Control
•Analyse and perform multiple quality checks of the respective products in order to meet the requirements of the process.
•Identify non-conformities throughout the production process and address other employees to ensure qualitative products
•Control the amount of products produced by an installation
About you
Required work experience/qualifications:
•Recognised engineering apprenticeship or equivalent
•ONC/HNC mechanical or production engineering
•Welding/burning and general fabrication including pipefitting and erection
•Manual handling, lifting & Slinging.
•Operation of MEWP, FLT, Telehandlers.
•Current knowledge of relevant H&S legislation
•Good level of bench skills and general machining.
•General fitting techniques, bearing, drives/couplings, hydraulics and pneumatics.
•Overhaul of pumps and pumping system components, gearboxes and material handling systems.
•Good level of knowledge relating to quarrying & minerals processing equipment.
•Good level of IT knowledge, MS office
•Systematic approach to fault finding
•Understanding analytical processes for maintenance 5S, RCA, FMEA, SMED etc
•Good communication skills at all levels within an organisation
