We are seeking a Controls Engineer to design, program, and maintain automation systems for our robotic gauging stations.
The Controls Engineer is responsible for programming, troubleshooting, and improving automation systems, with a focus on robotic gauging stations. This role includes designing gauging programs, supporting preventive maintenance, and ensuring compliance through documentation and version control. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable working cross-functionally with Production, Quality, and Maintenance.
· Program, troubleshoot, and optimize robotics and automation for gauging stations.
· Design and improve gauging programs, including vision systems and automated CMM routines.
· Support preventive maintenance and reliability of automation and controls equipment.
· Develop and maintain documentation, including work instructions, version control, and ISO/PPAP support.
· Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams to resolve issues and implement improvements.
· Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in automation and process control.
· Technical diploma or significant hands-on PLC/robotics/automation experience accepted.
· Proficiency with robotics programming, PLCs, and automation troubleshooting.
· Experience with precision measurement systems, vision systems, laser measurement, gauging systems, CMMs, or vision systems strongly preferred.
· Experience with OSHA standards for robotic cells preferred.
· Strong communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
