Description:
Responsible for the design and implementation of control solutions geared towards process improvement. Oversees electrical and automation projects. Designs control panels for field installations based on customer requirements. Scopes and builds control systems for customers based on their process and budgetary constraints. Trains and mentors technicians with troubleshooting. Serves as the main PLC programming resource for the project. Designs and implements effective HMI controls. Interfaces with production operators, maintenance, management, and engineering groups to achieve the best possible solutions to process control problems. Maintains and troubleshoots process operations to ensure safety and reliability. Responsible for implementing new technology to maximize process efficiency and is accountable for PLC specification and programming, including HMI development following, established corporate-wide standards. Specifies and applies instrumentation for process application. Accountable for machine control circuitry and motor control design, including safety circuits and adherence to the National Electrical Code (NEC) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) code. Configures and controls Variable Frequency Drives. Responsible for electrical design, including the creation of schematic diagrams.
Requirements: MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a closely related field and 5 years of related (progressive, post-baccalaureate) experience. Must also have 24 months of demonstrated experience in each of the following: 1) Managing electrical design and automation projects in the oil and gas industry, including project management (e.g., scope definition, timeline management, resource allocation, budget control), applying oil and gas industry standards and regulations, and managing the full project lifecycle, from design to execution; 2) Designing and building control systems tailored to customer requirements, including translating customer process needs into technical specifications and design solutions, understanding process control systems (PLCs, SCADA systems, and HMI design), and applying knowledge of process safety and reliability considerations in control system design; 3) Integrating devices (sensors and actuators) and systems into control systems, and working with data acquisition and monitoring tools and software platforms including Rockwell Studio 5000, Ignition Vision, and Red Lion Crimson for integration, as well as ensuring seamless communication between hardware components and control systems; 4) Managing and mentoring technical staff, providing technical guidance and training to junior engineers and technicians, and ensuring high standards of work and providing troubleshooting and support for technical challenges; and 5) Setting up basic industrial networks using ethernet, Modbus Serial, and Modbus TCP Protocols, working with network design, configuration, and troubleshooting in industrial environments, and working with network security measures and ensuring safe and reliable data transfer.
