Overview:
The primary responsibility of the Control Room Operator is to monitor the functionality of the pipelines to detect active and potential malfunctions, equipment failures, pressure and volume changes. The Control Room Operator will ensures the safe and efficient operation of processes, systems, and associated equipment, and will identify if production shutdown is necessary when unsafe conditions are detected. This is a 24-hour operation requiring 12-hour shifts, night shift and day shift every 7 days, Thursday to Wednesday based on a predetermined work schedule. 7 days on/7 days off
Responsibilities:
•Monitor pipelines from a central control room using a computer console with multiple screens. Parameters monitored include producing rate, flowing pressure and temperature, flow rates, pressures, and temperatures.
•Notify field (Lease Operators) or mid-stream (Compressor Operator) personnel of problems and coordinate rectification. Mobilize additional manpower if required to resolve issues.
•Continuously monitor data and make necessary adjustments.
•Acquire a basic understanding of overall pipeline operations and their interactions.
•Recognize pressure differences, identify geographic locations of these points.
•Possess communication skills to effectively communicate between all groups, fielding incoming and outgoing calls with accurate information.
•Compile and submit all required reports for daily operations of the Control Room independently.
Qualifications:
•1+ yrs. of Oil and Gas experience required. Control Room Operator experience preferred.
•High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
•Must live in Jal, Hobbs, NM. Housing is not provided.
•Must be able to work days and nights.
•Ability to meet all conditional job offer requirements including background check, drug test, and fit for duty.
•Understanding of environmental and Safe Work Practices.
