Under general guidance, is responsible for the continuous safe and efficient operations of the plant during his shift. Supervise, monitor and control the power generation process both from the Control Room and at the field.

Primary Job Functions

•

Strict adherence to safety regulations and policies.

•

Operates all plant systems (boiler, turbine, generator, etc) in a correct, efficient and safe manner.

•

Perform analysis of situations and exercise sound judgment in emergencies.

•

Participates as an active member of the AES Puerto Rico plant wide meetings.

•

Monitor instrumentation readings and respond to any variances in the process.

•

Ensure we comply with our environmental air Permits.

•

Provide shift relief support when necessary.

•

Prepares plant documentation, including logs and operating records.

•

Performs special assignments as directed by the Shift Team Leader.

•

Prepares work requests for maintenance personnel.

•

Overall responsibility for all plant operations on a shift basis.

•

Maintain the housekeeping of the work area at a very high level.

•

Must successfully pass certification requirements for a Control Room Operator.

•

Performs other related duties as assigned by the Team Leader.

Qualifications Required:

•

Four year of high school or vocational school is required.

•

Three to five years of plan operations experience is preferred with three years in the area of power generation.

•

Qualified in the operation of the Boiler and Turbine. Qualification in Water Treatment and Material Handling is a plus.

•

Indebt knowledge of integrated boiler and turbine operations.

•

Strong interpersonal relationship skills.

•

Proven strong performance in previous roles.

•

Self-motivated.

•

Strong problem solving and decision making skills.

•

Proven leadership and communications skills.

•

Works well with others in a team environment
