Continuous Improvement Leader

Description:

The Continuous Improvement (CI) Leader is responsible for leading initiatives that improve efficiency, quality, and productivity across our operations. This role supports Mission Critical Group (MCG) and Point Eight Power (PEP) by analyzing current processes, identifying improvement opportunities, and driving solutions using Lean and Six Sigma tools. The CI Leader helps embed a culture of operational excellence and problem-solving. This person will report to the Director of Operations. Relocation Assistance: No relocation assistance available, this position is 100% onsite at our facility in Belle Chasse, LA

Responsibilities:

- Lead continuous improvement projects to streamline manufacturing processes.

- Facilitate Kaizen events, workshops, and training on CI tools.

- Analyze operations to find inefficiencies and recommend improvements.

- Partner with MCG and PEP leadership to plan and execute improvement projects.

- Use Lean and Six Sigma tools to reduce waste and improve performance.

- Calculate production capacity (people, machines, space) and identify bottlenecks.

- Conduct root cause analysis and develop sustainable solutions.

- Support the implementation of Visual Factory tools and standards.

- Ensure ongoing improvement through standard work and visual controls.

- Work with QA/QC to measure and sustain improvements.

- Help track performance metrics related to quality, throughput, and waste.

- Coach and train teams—including hourly employees—on CI practices.

- Support change management and adoption of new processes.

- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and quality system requirements.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.

- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment with CI focus, Required

- Proven success leading process improvement initiatives.

- Experience facilitating Kaizens or improvement workshops.

Skills & Knowledge:

- Strong understanding of Lean (5S, Kanban, VSM) and Six Sigma (DMAIC).

- Skilled in root cause analysis and project management.

- Comfortable using data and statistical tools for decision-making.

- Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork abilities.

- Ability to influence and train others at all levels of the organization.

- Familiar with business and quality management systems.

Work Environment:

- Primarily office-based, with frequent time spent on the production floor.

- Must be able to walk, stand, and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.

- May work more than 40 hours/week to meet deadlines or project needs.

- Requires strong attention to safety, quality, and compliance.
