Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Construction Manager to lead the execution of a large-scale hydroelectric dam project. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil construction projects, with proven experience managing complex infrastructure projects in challenging environments. This role requires a deep understanding of dam construction, geotechnical considerations, concrete works, and water management systems.
Responsibilities•Project Leadership: Oversee all on-site construction activities, ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and project timelines.
•Civil Work Oversight: Provide technical guidance on civil works including excavation, foundation treatment, concrete placement, spillways, intake structures, and embankments.
•Team Coordination: Manage and coordinate subcontractors, engineers, and site personnel to ensure efficient workflow and quality control.
•Scheduling & Budgeting: Develop and maintain construction schedules, monitor progress, and control costs to ensure project delivery within budget.
•Quality Assurance: Implement and enforce quality control procedures for all civil works, ensuring adherence to engineering standards and regulatory requirements.
•Health & Safety: Promote a culture of safety on-site, ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
•Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with design teams, consultants, government agencies, and local communities to ensure smooth project execution.
•Risk Management: Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project delivery.
Skills
•Strong knowledge of dam construction methods, civil construction, and concrete technology.
•Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
•Proficiency in construction management tools.
•Willingness to work in remote or challenging environments.
Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree or significant related field experience.
•Minimum 10 years of experience in large-scale infrastructure or hydroelectric projects.
Preferred Experience
•Experience with mass concrete pours, setup and QC.
•Familiarity with environmental impact assessments and sustainability practices in hydro projects.
•Previous work on international or government-funded infrastructure projects.
