Construction Field Safety Observer – Construction Real Estate Strategy & Services Project

As an independent utility vegetation management and safety services consulting contractor, Atlas Field Services LLC has supported our client's vegetation management and safety programs since 2016. Our company consists of ISA Certified Arborists, Safety and Utility Specialists that support construction, electric, and gas programs in accordance with our client’s compliance and specification needs.

AFS is committed to leveraging its extensive experience in construction and facilities management to provide experience with qualified staff to ensure client expectations.


About our Role:

The Corporate Real Estate Strategy & Services (CRESS) Field Safety Specialist will conduct site safety observations and manage client SafetyNet and ISN badge scanning, reporting, and recommendations. Candidate must live within the client service territory to be considered for this role.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Monitor the work, conduct, and record safety observations per frequency as defined in the CRESS oversight procedures.

- Assist in the development of Corrective Action Plans (CAPs).

- Assist in Safety Plan review as needed.

- Perform ISN badge checks to field-verify contract partner prequalification and required coworker training.

- Report findings through client specific data collection system

- Identify opportunities for improvement and coach other vendors on safe work practices

- Develop relationships with stakeholders and take ownership site safely

- Work well with Client Management, Coordinators, and other specialists

- Contribute during meetings, and sharing your experiences and findings good and bad

- Present during quarterly safety seminars and support group functions as needed


EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

- At least three (3) years’ experience in construction such as demolition, fall protection, excavation, confined spaces, handling hazardous materials, soil classifications for monitoring or shoring at construction site.

- Ability to utilize Mobile app-based Surveys, and basic understanding of MS Excel spreadsheets to record observations.

- Strong familiarity with iOS mobile devices and ability to utilize a laptop independently

- Self-sufficient/ self-starter, ability to develop working relationships with other contractors.

- Must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities, the ability to multi-task and an attention to detail.

- Must be able to work alone, outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain.

- Must have basic computer skills and utilize a smart phone proficiently.

- Valid Driver's License and ability to drive company provided vehicle required.

Bi-lingual speaking (English and Spanish) is a plus.

- The employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions

- The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles (e.g. in warehouse, at customer sites).

- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

- Work alone in an outdoor field environment; remote locations as well as urban, city environment; physical demands and travel from site to site, including: walking/hiking on various surfaces including flat, dry, wet, slippery, uneven, rough, steep terrain, hills and slopes; exposure to noise, dust, grease, and all types of weather and temperature conditions; exposure to hazardous traffic conditions.


PRE-QUALIFICATIONS

- Must pass a post-offer background and drug screening.

- Must possess a valid driver's license and have a good driving record.

Compensation: $45.00 - $48.00 per hour
