Construction Coordinator

As a Construction Coordinator at Colorado Springs Utilities, you'll have the opportunity to oversee the construction phase of small-scale and low complexity utility infrastructure projects. You'll leverage your construction management skills and expertise to manage contracted construction scope, monitor construction schedules, coordinate resources, and ensure quality standards are achieved during construction. Please note that this is a field-based position, with approximately 90% of your time spent on project sites.


What Else Will You be Doing?

Assisting engineering staff with reviewing project constructability and safety by design
Overseeing project materials receiving and inventory management process
Ensuring that project materials and equipment are adequately inspected for quantity, quality, and conformance
Supporting construction project manager with procuring materials, resources, equipment, and services, and assisting the project manager with communication to customers, stakeholders, vendors, and contractors
Assisting with project construction estimates and developing budgets
Supporting with the resolution of issues during onsite construction and mitigating risk
Coordinating with contractors to ensure all work is completed to required standards
Monitoring contractors' safety and health performance and addressing any deficiencies during the project
Performing regular job site safety engagements with contractors and documenting in accordance with our Contractor Safety Management Program
Performing and monitoring the red-line process with contractors as part of the review of contractor applications for payment and ensuring all RFIs and change orders are incorporated


Who You Are

Previous work experience in construction management or in project coordination related to construction
Associate's Degree in Construction Management or a related field is valued* , or demonstrated equivalent work experience Possession of a Construction Manager-in-Training (CMIT) is valued* Possession of a valid, unrestricted driver's license is required* - this job requires operating Utilities' vehicles as an essential job function
