SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Concrete Foreman is responsible for overseeing and managing concrete construction crews and operations on-site to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications. This role involves hands-on work, coordination with project management, and supervision of laborers and equipment operators.
TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
•Oversees all activities pertaining to concrete preparation, placement, installation, finishing, and curing
•Provides effective leadership, management, and motivation to crews consisting of 5 to 6 individuals
•Interprets and understands blueprints, project plans, and specifications to ensure accurate execution of concrete work
•Plans and schedules manpower, tools, materials, and equipment necessary for completing projects within specified timelines
•Maintains daily logs and complete timesheets to track project progress and labor hours accurately
•Inspects concrete forms to verify proper construction and alignment, adjusting as needed
•Applies hardening and sealing compounds to cure the surface of the concrete as per specifications
•Ensures strict adherence to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment
•Effectively delegates responsibilities and individual tasks to crew members
•Must be willing and able to assist with any duties performed by concrete finishers and laborers as needed to ensure project completion and success
•Performs additional duties and responsibilities as required to support project objectives and meet client expectations
•Follows all company rules, regulations, policies, guidelines, etc.
REQUIREMENTS
•Must be at least 18 years of age
•Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation and punctuality
•Previous experience in a supervisory role
•3+ years of construction experience, specifically in concrete
•Previous experience in a supervisory role
•Performs physical activities requiring significant use of arms, legs, and full body movement, including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and material handling
•Understands and complies with both oral and written instructions
•Maintains effective working relationships with coworkers, subcontractors, vendors, and others encountered during work
•Executes various manual tasks for extended periods, even in unfavorable weather conditions.
•Arrives punctually for work with all necessary tools prepared
•Strong attention to detail and a focus on quality
WORK ENVIORMENT
•Outdoor job sites in various weather conditions
•May involve working around heavy equipment and loud noise
•Requires standing, kneeling, bending, and lifting heavy materials for extended periods
•May require overtime or weekend work depending on project deadline
•Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required
