Tundra is excited to announce an opportunity for a Compressor Technician, based out of the Estevan, SK office. This role ensures the proper functioning and longevity of gas compressor systems, supporting production goals.
- Conducting regular inspections, lubrication, and preventative maintenance on gas compressor systems
- Identifying and diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and operational problems in gas compressors using various tools and diagnostic equipment
- Performing necessary repairs, replacements, and overhauls on compressor components such as valves, cylinders, seals, bearings, and electrical systems
- Conducting calibration and testing of control systems, sensors, and safety devices to maintain system accuracy and safety standards
- Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, including equipment history, parts replaced, and maintenance schedules
- Ensuring that all maintenance activities are carried out in compliance with safety regulations and company policies
- Identifying and addressing safety hazards promptly
- Managing inventory of spare parts, ordering replacements as needed, and keeping track of stock levels to minimize downtime
- Providing training and guidance to junior technicians and operators on compressor maintenance best practices
- Monitoring gas compressor operating costs
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Technical education or certification in compressor maintenance is preferred
- Previous experience as a gas compressor maintenance specialist or a similar role in the oil and gas industry
- Strong understanding of gas compression principles, equipment, and systems
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, hand tools, and specialized equipment for maintenance and repairs
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices related to gas compressor maintenance
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Valid class 5 driver’s license
- Mechanical aptitude with basic electrical knowledge
- Exceptional problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Sound decision making skills
- Strong computer skills
- Highly organized
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Safety conscious
- This position is primarily field-based, and the successful incumbent must be prepared to work in all weather conditions and remote locations
- Required to participate in the on-call rotation schedule to address critical issues promptly
- Ability to lift 25 kilograms or more
- Must be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
