The
Compliance Analystsupports the management and execution of Brazos Electric’s regulatory compliance programs, ensuring adherence to North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT), and Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) standards. This role is essential in maintaining our compliance posture through effective audit coordination, training, regulatory reporting, and risk management. You will serve as a subject matter expert and collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to drive a culture of accountability and operational compliance across the organization.
- Coordinate compliance filings, audit preparation, and tracking of regulatory deadlines.
- Monitor industry standards and communicate updates to subject matter experts (SMEs).
- Maintain compliance evidence and documentation systems. Support internal compliance training programs and self-assessments.
- Manage meetings and materials for the NERC Oversight Committee.
- Collaborate on policy reviews and promote compliance awareness across departments.
- Coordinate responses to ERCOT data requests and audit activities.
- Attend ERCOT meetings and communicate key takeaways to internal stakeholders.
- Support implementation of ERCOT and PUCT reliability requirements.
- Assist in risk mitigation and maintain compliance documentation.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of the corporate risk register.
- Assist with compliance risk reviews and mitigation strategies.
- Support internal communications related to risk awareness and compliance culture.
- Assist with external audits, investigations, and regulatory workshops.
- Maintain and update compliance-related contracts and records.
- Support policy implementation and document management efforts across departments.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, accounting, finance, management, or a related field.
- Minimum of four (4) years in utility operations or compliance.
- Experience in electric cooperatives or electric reliability compliance is a strong plus.
- A relevant graduate degree may partially substitute for required experience.
- Working knowledge of NERC, PUCT, and ERCOT standards.
- Strong analytical and organizational abilities.
- Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Proficiency in document and records management systems.
