This is a full-time on-site role for a Compliance Analyst located in Houston, TX. The Compliance Analyst will be responsible for ensuring adherence to trade and import compliance regulations, managing customs brokerage processes, and utilizing the Harmonized Tariff Schedule for classification purposes. Daily tasks will include conducting thorough compliance audits, preparing necessary documentation, and collaborating with internal teams to address regulatory requirements.
- At least 5 years of experience required
- Proficient in Trade Compliance and Import Compliance
- Strong Analytical Skills
- Experience with Customs Brokerage and Harmonized Tariff Schedule
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Bachelor's degree in International Business, Logistics, or a related field preferred
- Minimum two (5) years of work experience directly involving Trade Compliance and Import/Export Procedures
- Experience with Import and Export regulations and requirements
- Exceptional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, enabling interactions with people of all levels
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
- Ability to influence others without having direct authority over the
- Monitor and maintain trade compliance data elements in the company systems
- Identify and resolve day-to-day trade compliance matters
- Knowledge in ACE portal as well as analyzing data from reports
- Provide support in assigning, document and maintain Harmonized Tariff Codes ("HTSUS”), Export Classification Numbers (ECCN) to new and existing items
- Provide support to internal departments pertaining to classification, valuation, country of origin, and other communication
- Provide support in the development, update, and implementation of written procedures and systems (an Import/Export Procedures and Policies Manual) to ensure imports and exports comply with all applicable laws and regulations
- Assist with import and export audits
- Act as a liaison with compliance users and gatekeepers on all import and export issues
- Knowledge of AD/CVD rules and regulations and Type 3 entries
- Facility with US Customs ACE, AMS and ABI environments
- Research experience with Customs Cross Rulings and country of origin criteria
