Commercial Project Manager / Project Controller

Our steadily growing High-Voltage Substation group based out of Raleigh, NC (USA) is looking for a highly driven, self-motivated, and solution oriented Commercial Project Manager/ Project Controller who will be responsible for the successful financial controlling and reporting of construction projects!

You will work together with our technical project management organization with the main objective of delivering the projects according to our contractual obligations, project management, and financial reporting standards!

How You’ll Make an Impact

- Take full responsibility for all finance-related matters of assigned projects, including Accounting, Legal, Tax, Foreign Currencies, revenue recognition, contractual invoicing, and compliance with IFRS15, local GAAP, reporting guidelines, and internal controls.

- Manage and optimize targeted financial results with due professional care, ensuring accurate forecasting of revenue, profit margin, and cash flow on a monthly basis.

- Ensure accuracy of cost and pricing calculations, project books and records, and proper system entries (e.g., SAP, iTWO PM Imp@ct), while managing financial guarantees, bonds, and project securities.

- Prepare commercial documentation for regular project status meetings, maintaining accuracy of all commercial project data throughout project execution.

- Support Project Managers in identifying and minimizing non-conformance costs, evaluating risks and opportunities, negotiating changes with customers or vendors, and developing strategies and response activities.

- Contribute to organizational improvement by implementing lessons learned, supporting early involvement in tenders to improve calculation accuracy, and interpreting/applying relevant contractual regulations in collaboration with Project Managers and Procurement.

What You Bring

- BA/BS/Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Finance/ Business Administration/ Accounting or other relevant field in the financial environment

- 4+ years of professional experience in a similar financial project role, with a mandatory project management certification such as PMP or IPMA.

- Take ownership of projects with a solution- and detail oriented approach, proactively addressing challenges, maintaining open communication, and working optimally in a team-oriented environment. Capable of multitasking and meeting deadlines, with ~5% travel required.

- Strong financial and technical expertise with a detailed understanding of GAAP and IFRS, proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office, strong analytical skills, and the ability to read, understand, and apply contractual terms and regulations.

- Experience with construction projects is considered a plus; English at professional working proficiency level is required.
