The place of work is in Nunavik and the normal work schedule is on a rotation of 6 weeks: 3 weeks worked (77 hours per week, 7 days a week) followed by 3 weeks of rest.

Reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor, the Laboratory Technician is in charge of the operations for the chemical analysis of base metals and precious metals. The incumbent’s main responsibilities are:
- Prepares solutions required to conduct laboratory analyses, perform the spectroscopic analyzes by MP-AES;
- Performs digestion of samples (Microwave assisted acid digestion);
- Perform fire assay operations (fusion, cupellation, silver beads digestion);
- Ensures basic maintenance of analysis equipment;
- Help with sample preparation when needed;
- Performs tasks as per analysis procedures and standards related to health and safety, hygiene and the environment.
- Diploma of collegial studies (DEC) in a related field (Specialization in analysis) or relevant experience;
- 0-2 years of experience in a similar position;
- Experience in sulfide ore analysis by fire lead assay;
- Experience in spectroscopy (MP-AES and AAS).
- Bilingual (French and English).
- Good knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
