Description
The CNC Operator at Armstrong International is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines to produce precision components according to engineering specifications. The role involves interpreting technical drawings, ensuring the machines run smoothly, and maintaining high-quality standards for production output.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, and other written instructions
- Knowledge of machine settings
- Understand measuring equipment for metalworking
- Perform tool offsets & minor program changes
- Ability to troubleshoot malfunctions and modify programs when required
- Understanding of index-able, carbide, and high-speed tooling
- Examine work pieces for defects and measure components to ensure conformance with specifications
- Maintains work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and adheres to all safety procedures
- Responsible for preventive maintenance on machines
- This is a mobile position with typical weightlifting requirements of ten pounds but may be up to fifty pounds periodically. Material handling equipment is used on all heavy loads.

- Willingness to learn or train in the position.
- Must have the physical and mental stamina to stand, walk, lift, and adjust to the noise and lighting of the manufacturing environment.
- Other duties as assigned and not limited to just the above.
- Experience working in an environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, IFS or related software used for data entry and record keeping.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and consistent.
- Works well as a productive member of a team.
