CNC Supervisor / Programmer Job Description
Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Supervisor / Programmer to join our team in a fast-paced manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CNC Mill machines, including programming, and will be proficient in using precision measuring instruments. This role is essential for ensuring that our production processes run smoothly and efficiently, producing high-quality components that meet strict specifications.
Duties
•Assist Setup operators in Developing and optimizing CNC programs for various machining operations, including milling machine setups.
•Utilize CAM programming software to create precise machining instructions based on engineering drawings and specifications.
•Review routers and Order tools that are needed for upcoming jobs.
•Clear out jobs, paperwork, saving programs, etc.
•Conduct random inspections of machined parts using precision measuring instruments to verify adherence to specifications.
•Troubleshoot and resolve any programming or operational issues that arise during the operators manufacturing process.
•Oversee any training in the mill department.
•Completing small maintenance on the mill machines, anything in our capabilities.
•Work with machine, and tool vendors as needed
•Monitor cycle times, parts per hour, and correct issues as needed
•Schedule mill employees for the next shifts
•Conduct quarterly audits on mill department procedures
•Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain a clean working environment.
Requirements
•Proven experience as a CNC machinist / Programmer in a manufacturing setting.
•Proficiency in programming CNC milling machines, with a strong understanding of tooling requirements is a plus.
•Familiarity with Fanuc controls is highly desirable.
•Experience with CAM programming software to create efficient machining programs is a plus.
•Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately.
•Strong knowledge of precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, etc.) for quality assurance checks.
•Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot CNC machinery effectively.
•Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
•A commitment to maintaining safety standards within the workplace.
