Northwest Machine Works Inc. is actively looking for an experienced machinist to join our unique small business manufacturing culture. This position requires experience in CNC Lathes and Mills and experience in programming. Currently we have One full-time CNC Machinist position within our company. The shift consists of Monday-Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Hourly pay depends on experience and education. Basic Duties · Read and interpret engineering drawing to determine the appropriate tooling, machining technique necessary to produce the desired product. · Ensure proper gauging. · Machine parts, as indicated on job traveler and part drawing to meet specifications. · Inspect parts made. · Accurately track and report production totals. · Locate and move proper material from inventory stock to complete order requirements. · Perform equipment maintenance as directed or needed along with general plant housekeeping. Education/Experience · High School Graduate or GED. · Two or more years of related experience in CNC machining and or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge for this job. · Preferred knowledge relating to Okuma and Haas CNC machines. - Ability to write or modify CNC programs
- Ability to learn technical information; manuals and instructions.
- Capacity in programing CNC machines using M and G codes.
- Advanced math skills, including knowledge of trigonometry and geometry.
- Ability to learn technical information; manuals and instructions.
- Proficiency in reading a tape measure, use calipers, and micrometers. •
- Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly express thoughts to others and exchange information with peers and all levels of management.
