Position Summary
The Cleaning Specialist plays a key role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, health, and visual appeal in both common areas and vacant units across our properties. This role ensures our spaces not only sparkle but reflect our values-creating homes that are safe, sustainable, and tenant-ready.
You'll lead by example, embodying our team values of humble, hungry, and smart, while ensuring our buildings remain places people are proud to live and work.
Key Responsibilities
Apartment Common Area Cleaning
•Perform daily and scheduled cleaning of hallways, stairwells, lobbies, laundry rooms, and elevators.
•Disinfect high-touch surfaces such as doorknobs, handrails, and light switches.
•Vacuum and mop floors to maintain a safe and polished environment.
•Clean and empty trash receptacles and replace liners.
•Dust and wipe down flat surfaces, light fixtures, and windowsills.
Vacant Unit Cleaning
•Fully clean and sanitize units in preparation for new tenants.
•Wipe down walls, windows, countertops, cabinets, and appliances.
•Sanitize bathrooms including sinks, toilets, tubs, and mirrors.
•Sweep, vacuum, and mop all flooring.
•Ensure units meet the company's move-in ready standards.
General Cleaning Standards
•Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces to maintain visibility and aesthetic.
•Remove visible smudges, dust, and debris.
•Inspect and report damaged flooring or required repairs.
•Maintain a checklist of tasks completed in each area or unit.
Safety and Compliance
•Follow all safety procedures when handling cleaning chemicals and equipment.
•Use PPE as required and ensure cleaning supplies are used and stored safely.Comply with OSHA standards and all internal safety protocols.
Inventory and Supply Management
•Monitor and maintain adequate stock of cleaning materials and tools.
•Notify the property manager of any low inventory or resupply needs.
Communication and Reporting
•Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the Maintenance Manager promptly.
•Log completed work tasks as directed.
Tenant Relations
•Interact respectfully and professionally with tenants and staff.
•Address tenant questions or concerns about cleaning in a timely and courteous manner.
Qualifications
•Prior experience in residential, commercial, or hospitality cleaning preferred.
•Working knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
•Ability to work independently and follow detailed instructions.
•Strong communication and organizational skills.
•Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs., climb stairs, and perform physical cleaning tasks for extended periods.
