Job Summary:
Operating from our Fort McKay main shop, this position involves the safe operation ofseveral types of Class 1 units. Operators should be mechanically inclined and physically fit to work in all kinds of weather. Preference will be given to candidates that possess previous experience in the industrial sector.May have to overnight from time to time, Edmonton/Red deer.
Duties and Responsibilities:•Operateseveral types of units (Demo end dump, demo B-train, flat deck) in a safe and efficientmanner
•Load securement, chains, and straps
•Must be physically able to perform tasks and work in allweather
•Completion of daily documentation including but not limited to dailylogbooks, customer work orders, field level risk assessment, pre/post tripinspections
•Follow instructions for tasks assigned by Dispatch or Supervisor
•Complete daily housekeeping of assigned truck to ensure maintenance of companyimage
•Attend dailytoolboxand safety meetings as scheduled and adhere to corporate and site safety regulations and procedures
•Maintain and operate all BME tools and equipment to the required standards andprocedures
•Ensure that all training is keptcurrent
•Follow all TDG and WHMIS standards andregulations
•Seek out continuous improvementopportunities
•Provide customer-focused services in allactivities
Qualifications:
•Possess a valid Class 1 driver’s license with clean driver’sabstract
•Minimum 3years experienceincluding up to 18 speed manual class 1 equipment
•Previous or relatedexperience operatingDemo end dump, demo B-train, flat deck
•Minedriveexperience is anasset
•Chaining and strapping experience required
•Previous pipe hauling experience is an asset
•Clear verbal and written communication skills
•OSSA (or BSO/CSO) and CSTS certification
•Certification in Transportation of Dangerous Good, Daily Trip Inspections, Provincial Hours of Service for Alberta, Weights and Dimensions, Cargo Securement for flatbeds, WHMIS, and H2S Alive considered an asset
•Must successfully pass BME driver’s evaluation, D&A and fit for duty pre-employmentscreening
