Civil Inspector - CB

Preparing regular status reports and maintain current and accurate record drawings.

Keeping lead Field Inspector and Resident Engineer informed of progress documentation and activities of the Contractor’s QC and Independent QA efforts.

Performing daily project inspections and documentation.

Performing Contractor QC and Independent QA documentation.

Completing Daily reporting including Owner Verification (OV) daily checklists.

Determining contractor crew size, equipment on site and activities performed.

Taking regular progress photographs.

Responsible for field construction efforts, construction sequencing, scheduling, and performance decisions.

Assuring quality and uniformity of the Contractor QC and Independent QA records and of various contracts in the overall program.

Bachelor degree is preferred.

High school diploma or GED is required.

At least 2 years related experience in construction inspection of civil/structural facility elements of design is required.

Current IDOT Documentation Class Certification and IDOT QA/QC Technician training.

Be able to read and interpret contract documents and construction plans.

Additional Minimum Qualifications / Preferred Qualifications o IDOT, CDOT and/or Illinois Tollway experience o Familiar in the use of e-builder, ICORS and Microsoft Office o Ability to drive to the construction site o Strong time management and attention to details o Excellent organizational skills o Willingness to train in OSHA, CPR.
