Civil Construction Foreman

Oakpark Powerline Services is seeking Civil Construction Foreman experienced with supervising crews for their civil construction team that operates primarily in Southern Manitoba this position will report to the Division Foreman.

Oakpark provides a comprehensive range of utility services including underground pipe and cabling, Gas line installation, fiber installation, in-ground vaults. Oakpark has is own fleet of heavy equipment to complement the line of work and performs all work with its own fleet. Oakpark has a wide range of customers and performs work on new developments around Winnipeg and through out Manitoba.

This position will be reporting to the head office near St Norbert, Manitoba and therefore the right candidate must be able to make that commute on a daily basis. Project locations will vary.

Job Duties:

- Supervise a crew ensuring that project timelines are met

- Able to provide coaching, guidance and feedback ensuring all rules are adhered to

- Ability to identify potential obstacles or delays

- Communicate with management and field staff

- Ability to pay attention to detail, follow instruction and communicate effectively

- Operate large vehicles and heavy equipment

- Working under strict timelines

Requirements:

- Class 3 license

- Ability to lift over 50lbs

- Able to work with little to no supervision

- Able to communicate professionally with management and colleagues

- High level of tolerance to ambiguity and rapidly changing/pivoting schedules

- Ability to successfully complete CN e-Railsafe

Working Conditions:

- Physically demanding and mostly outdoors in all weather conditions
