Mako Industries is hiring a Chilled Water Operations Service Manager that will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations, maintenance, and service of chiller water systems across commercial, industrial, or institutional facilities. This role ensures the optimal performance of chilled water systems, coordinates with clients and technicians, and ensures regulatory compliance, energy efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Supervise, schedule, and manage the service and maintenance of chilled water plants, distribution systems, and related HVAC infrastructure.
- Ensure operational efficiency, minimize downtime, and optimize system performance.
- Monitor energy consumption and implement cost-saving initiatives.
- Team Leadership
- Manage a team of HVAC technicians, engineers, and contractors.
- Conduct performance evaluations, training programs, and enforce safety protocols.
- Coordinate shift coverage and emergency response as needed.
- Service & Project Management
- Plan and oversee service contracts, maintenance schedules, and emergency repairs.
- Collaborate with engineering and project management teams on system upgrades or retrofits.
- Ensure all work complies with codes, safety standards, and client specifications.
- Client & Stakeholder Communication
- Act as the primary point of contact for client communication related to chiller water systems.
- Provide regular operational reports, system status updates, and recommendations.
- Address and resolve client concerns and service issues promptly.
- Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental and safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
- Maintain accurate records of system performance, maintenance logs, and incident reports.
- Prepare documentation for audits and inspections.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, HVAC Technology, or related field (preferred).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., HVACR, EPA 608, LEED, PMP) are a plus.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in chiller water systems operations and service, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Experience in commercial or industrial HVAC environments.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of chilled water plant operations, controls, and energy management systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in using BMS/BAS systems and CMMS platforms.
- Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and engineering specifications.
