Mako Indsutries is hiring a Chilled Water Field Supervisor that will be responsible for overseeing field operations related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of chilled water systems and distribution networks. This role provides leadership to field technicians, ensures compliance with safety and quality standards, and serves as a key liaison between the project management team and field operations.
- Supervise day-to-day field activities related to chilled water system operation, maintenance, and installations.
- Ensure work is performed safely, on time, and in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Monitor chilled water plant and distribution system performance and escalate issues as necessary.
- Lead, train, and support a team of HVAC/chiller technicians and subcontractors.
- Assign daily tasks, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to work plans.
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety briefings, and performance check-ins with the crew.
- Interpret blueprints, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and mechanical plans.
- Conduct or oversee pressure tests, system commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure proper startup, shutdown, and preventive maintenance procedures are followed.
- Conduct field inspections and ensure all work meets QA/QC standards.
- Enforce compliance with OSHA safety guidelines and company protocols.
- Maintain proper documentation of work performed, including logs, service reports, and incident reports.
- Interface with project managers, engineers, contractors, and clients to relay progress updates and resolve field-level issues.
- Support site readiness and coordinate with other trades or departments for system integration.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical school or associate degree in HVAC or mechanical systems preferred.
- Relevant certifications such as HVAC/R license, EPA Section 608 certification.
- OSHA 10/30 certification preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with chilled water systems, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead technician role.
- Experience with commercial or industrial chilled water plants and distribution systems.
- Strong understanding of chilled water systems, pumps, piping, valves, heat exchangers, and control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical documents.
- Proficiency in using tools, instruments, and diagnostic equipment.
- Solid leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
