Reclaimed Water Operations Manager

Loudoun Water has an opening for a Reclaimed Water Operations Manager in the Water Reclamation Department. Loudoun Water distributes high quality reclaimed water from the Broad Run Water Reclamation Facility (BRWRF) to customers for various uses, including industrial cooling applications. This position oversees and optimizes all aspects of the Operation of the Reclaimed Water System. Essential functions include:

- Provide leadership and direction in development of short and long-term plans that align with Loudoun Water’s vision and industry best practices for long-term sustainable operation of the Loudoun Water Reclaimed Water System.

- Assume responsibility for all aspects relating to the effective and efficient operation and management of the Reclaimed Water System.

- Participate in the Land Development process for customers requesting Reclaimed Water capacity to evaluate available capacity and impact of new connections.

- Review water use profiles and ramp-up schedules for individual users to understand and assess operational impacts.

- Coordinate updates to reclaimed water distribution model for both current and projected reclaimed water connections.

- Track agreements through the Land Development process and once executed, monitor Reclaimed Water user long term operational compliance with the agreements.

- Track and analyze overall Reclaimed Water supply, production and use by individual customers. Analyze and maintain data in Excel, PowerBI, HachWIMS, and SCADA.

- Assess the needs of the system and lead planning initiatives for new infrastructure, upgrades and major expansions of the Reclaimed Water System.

- Serve as a Loudoun Water Subject Matter Expert on Data Center cooling systems. Maintain communication with both existing and proposed data centers to understand cooling system types, water use, and maintenance operations and how those systems will affect both reclaimed water and wastewater operations at Loudoun Water.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with the ability to analyze complex data and situations to arrive at appropriate conclusions. Individual must communicate effectively, with the ability to work across multiple internal departments and external groups with individuals of varying backgrounds and roles.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in a related area of practice with an advanced degree preferred. Progressively responsible experience in the planning, design and/or operation of reclaimed water and/or wastewater facilities.
