Job Overview-Landfill Chemical Sales Representative – Midwest US
Position Summary:
The Landfill Chemical Sales Representative is responsible for promoting and selling chemical solutions used in landfill operations, including odor control, leachate treatment, dust suppression, and wastewater management. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, maintaining relationships with existing customers, and providing technical support to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant landfill operations.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets in assigned territory.
- Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities with landfill operators, municipalities, and waste management companies.
- Promote chemical products and treatment programs designed for odor control, leachate management, dust suppression, and related landfill applications.
- Conduct site assessments, product demonstrations, and technical presentations to showcase chemical solutions.
- Provide ongoing customer support, troubleshooting, and optimization of chemical treatment programs.
- Work with operations teams to ensure proper chemical application, safety compliance, and regulatory adherence.
- Prepare sales reports, forecasts, and account plans to track progress and performance.
- Stay up to date with landfill regulations, environmental standards, and competitive offerings.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent work experience).
- 2+ years of sales experience in chemicals, environmental services, or industrial markets.- Strong understanding of landfill operations, wastewater, or odor control solutions a plus.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple accounts.
- Proficiency with CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willingness to travel within assigned territory to include occasional overnight stays.
