Job Overview
Perley-Halladay Associates is currently seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team. In this role, you will play an important part supporting our construction projects by providing hands-on labor while ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Duties
•Perform carpentry tasks related to construction of cold storage facilities, including wall, roof and floor installations.
•Assist in the coordination and execution of construction projects, including site preparation, material movement, and site clean up.
•Collaborate with foreman and fellow carpenters to ensure that construction activities are carried out according to specifications and timelines.
•Perform various construction tasks as needed, such as measuring and cutting materials, assembling structures, and installing insulated metal panels.
•Apply caulking and sealants as needed to seal structures.
•Operate and maintain construction machinery, equipment and tools in a safe and efficient manner, following all relevant safety protocols.
•Assist in the resolution of construction-related problems and conflicts, working to find practical solutions that meet project requirements.
•Maintain compliance with job site regulations and safety standards, taking corrective action as necessary to address any deficiencies.
•Provide technical support and guidance to fellow carpenters and subcontractors, ensuring that work is completed correctly and efficiently.
•Participate in training and development activities to enhance skills and stay current with industry trends and best practices.
•Collaborate with team members on construction sites to ensure timely project completion.
•Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and adhere to safety protocols on job sites.
Skills
•High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in construction technology or a related field is preferred.
•Proven experience in construction or a related field, with knowledge of construction methods, materials, and tools.
•Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot issues and propose effective solutions.
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues, clients, and subcontractors.
•Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
•Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
•Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects as required.
•Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
•Willingness and ability to travel for away projects as required.
•Willingness to work outdoors and in various weather conditions as needed.
