Our people division is growing, and we are looking for a Superintendent of Metallurgy with our Carlin Complex Operations.
The Metallurgy Superintendent is a key member of the process leadership team working interactively with stakeholders to develop our people, carry out the company’s internal controls, budgeting and, to ensure a safe, productive, and cost-effective operation.
As Metallurgy Superintendent you will balance daily delivery and establishing the future at Carlin Complex Process Metallurgy with accountability for all technical aspects of process related to metal production. Reporting to the Metallurgy Manager you will be a critical part of this business building strong partnerships and technical excellence.

Responsibilities:
•Provide visible leadership in line with our value of creating a Zero Harm Workplace.
•Ensure that adequate safety standards, procedures and methods of work are being maintained consistent with company, federal, and state regulations.
•Work closely with process supervision along with outside departments to ensure environmental compliance and safe functionality of the plant operation and maintaining of equipment.
•Facilitate collaboration with stakeholders including Operations, Maintenance, Finance, Technical Services, Safety, and Environmental.
•Lead, coach, and develop technical teams to deliver on improvement projects, process optimization, business plans, and driving metallurgical excellence in line with organizational core values.
•Accurate metallurgical allocation of gold and silver, including compliance with metallurgical accounting standards.
Qualifications:
•Degree in Chemical engineering, Metallurgical engineering, or a related degree.
•Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a specialty area are necessary, including leadership roles in technical teams.
•Solid working knowledge and experience working with the following unit operations: roasters, autoclaves, acid plants, CIL/CIP, flotation, comminution, and water treatment.
•In-depth understanding of gold pyrometallurgy and hydrometallurgy along with experimental design.
•Understanding of project management principles preferred.
•Experience in supervision of technical staff required.
•Experience presenting and publishing high-quality work required.
•Proven ability to lead innovative projects from conception through design.
•Knowledge of metallurgical accounting practices and procedures.
•Ability to create teams, lead teams, work as part of a team, as well as work independently when needed.
•Strong proven oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
•Excellent administrative, organization, and supervisor skills.
•Maintain a valid driver’s license issued by the state.
