About the role
•Please Note: This position is based in Canada and is open to applicants who are legally authorized to work in Canada. RNWBL does not sponsor work visas for this role. Applicants who do not meet this eligibility requirement will not be considered.
Wind Technician II
As a Wind Technician II, you'll take a lead role in troubleshooting, scheduled maintenance, unscheduled maintenance, and inspections on a Canadian project wind site. This position is ideal for experienced field technicians seeking growth and autonomy.
What You’ll Do
•Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on wind turbines.
•Lead component troubleshooting and minor corrective repairs.
•Document service activity and parts usage using digital systems.
•Train junior technicians in safety and maintenance practices.
•Coordinate logistics for site maintenance and project work.
•Communicate technical issues and resolutions to leadership.
•Collaborate with Inventory Control to ensure necessary parts and consumables are available.
•Participate in a 24/7/365 on-call rotation schedule.
Qualifications / Requirements
•2+ years of wind turbine maintenance experience.
•GE 1X, 2X LOTO Certifications preferred.
•GWO Certifications and GE-specific training desired.
•Solid understanding of turbine systems and safety protocols.
•Ability to work independently and respond to travel needs on short notice.
•Comfortable with heights, confined spaces, and outdoor conditions.
•Must live or be willing to relocate within 1 hour of the site.
•Willingness to travel occasionally for training or project support.
Eligibility Requirements
•Must be legally authorized to work in Canada. RNWBL does not sponsor work visas for this position.
•Successful completion of background check, MVR, and drug screening required.
Physical and Environmental Requirements
•This role involves working at heights, in confined spaces, and in variable outdoor conditions.
•Technicians must maintain physical stamina and adhere to all site-specific safety procedures, including participation in a rotating on-call schedule.
