About the role
Please Note: This position is based in Canada and is open to applicants who are legally authorized to work in Canada. RNWBL does not sponsor work visas for this role. Applicants who do not meet this eligibility requirement will not be considered.
Wind Technician III
As a Wind Technician III, you'll take a lead role in troubleshooting, scheduled maintenance, unscheduled maintenance, and inspections on a Canadian project wind site. This position is ideal for experienced field technicians seeking growth and autonomy.
What You’ll Do
•Perform scheduled and unscheduled turbine maintenance.
•Lead major component replacements and complex corrective repairs.
•Troubleshoot and resolve advanced turbine issues.
•Mentor and supervise junior and mid-level technicians.
•Ensure adherence to all safety procedures and regulations.
•Document service activities and part usage using digital platforms.
•Coordinate work schedules and tasks with site leads and peers.
•Communicate site issues and solutions effectively with leadership.
•Ensure proper part inventory through coordination with Inventory Control.
•Participate in a 24/7/365 on-call rotation schedule.
Qualifications / Requirements
•3+ years of wind turbine field service experience.
•GE platform experience (GE 1X, 2X) preferred.
•GWO Certifications and GE-specific training desired.
•Excellent leadership, communication, and troubleshooting skills.
•Comfortable with heights, confined spaces, and varying outdoor conditions.
•Must live or be willing to relocate within 1 hour of the site.
•Willingness to travel occasionally for training or project support.
Eligibility Requirements
•Must be legally authorized to work in Canada. RNWBL does not sponsor work visas for this position.
•Must pass background check, MVR, and drug screening.
Physical and Environmental Requirements
•This role requires physical stamina, the ability to work in confined spaces and at heights, and the capacity to perform in changing outdoor environments.
•Participation in a rotating on-call schedule is required, along with adherence to strict safety practices.
