Reporting to the Manager of Maintenance, Automation and Supply Chain you will be proficient in the execution of the purchase to pay (P2P) process, including strategic sourcing, contract negotiation and analysis, issuance of Purchase Orders (PO’s) and effectively troubleshooting issues related to the process. You will provide advice and counsel to other business units and end users in the P2P process ensuring that the controls and governance framework are adhered to while still providing the necessary service levels. The successful candidate will also provide a variety of administrative and commercial support services for the day-to-day Supply Chain functions including maintaining vendor relationships and resolving related issues, onboarding of new vendors, inventory management, and competitive bid processes. This is a full-time position based in our Calgary office. Canlin provides a flexible working environment with the opportunity to work remotely one day per week.
The successful candidate will be a graduate of a relevant post-secondary program such as Supply Chain Management, Business or Finance, and have at least 5 years of Supply Chain experience in the Canadian Oil and Gas industry.
Key Responsibilities
•As a subject matter expert for the purchase to pay process you will provide end users and business units, with the guidance and support necessary to effectively utilize the process while adhering to the governance requirements within the process.
•Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure contracts and purchase orders are put in place for the procurement of all goods and services.
•Lead sourcing events, ensuring that the appropriate stakeholders are consulted and included throughout the process.
•Support Senior Buyer’s in the negotiation of complex contracts, including terms and conditions.
•Assist with the procurement of goods and services through strategic sourcing processes, identifying successful vendors and awarding purchase orders.
•Develop strategies to consolidate spend across vendors with a goal of reducing the vendor base while enhancing the value derived for Canlin.
•Actively identify, plan and execute cost reduction opportunities.
•Work with the vendor community to ensure that key vendors are actively managed, including the development of performance metrics.
•Ensure the existing contracts under administration are managed as per outlined in the MSA.
•Work with internal stakeholders to identify requirements so that goods and services can be procured pro-actively.
•Work with internal stakeholders and the vendor community to identify new sources of supply.
•Collaborate with various stakeholders to create a preferred vendor list.
•Support the business in setting up new vendors as required.
•Maintain vendor relationships by managing vendor inquiries in a timely & professional fashion
•Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
•Preferred post-secondary diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Business/Business Administration, or Finance with Supply Chain specialization.
•More than 5 years of Supply Chain experience in the Canadian oil and gas industry.
•Previous experience with the Maximo Purchasing platform would be an asset.
•Knowledge of competitive bidding procedures and the overall purchase to pay process.
•Basic working knowledge of procurement contract terms and conditions.
•Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office programs.
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to maintain collaborative working relationships with other team members across functional groups – finance, operations, facilities, drilling & completions, legal counsel.
