Role Summary:

The Business Systems Analyst II supports the delivery of high-quality data products that enable analytics and reporting across multiple business domains, with a primary focus on Accounting and Finance. This role bridges business needs and technical execution by gathering requirements, facilitating data product design, documenting features, and validating data products throughout their lifecycle. The Business Systems Analyst II collaborates closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and analytics teams to ensure data products align with business objectives, maintain integrity, and comply with governance standards.

In addition to defining and documenting requirements, this role is responsible for conducting quality assurance (QA) and leading user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and usability. Ideal candidates will bring strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions. While not required, familiarity with concepts such as star schema dimensional modeling and Agile methodologies is highly desirable.

What You Will Do

Perform all aspects of work related to documenting business needs, data product documentation, tracking and resolving user issues, testing, and training for data and analytic solutions applicable to business unit supported.

Leads efforts to define, document, and maintain data product specifications including business processes, functional requirements, and functional designs.

Troubleshoots moderate to complex production support tickets and end-user questions that may require collaboration with multiple business or technical teams to identify root causes and appropriate solutions.

Invests time with business to continually develop an intermediate level of business knowledge of the business unit(s) supported.

Leads small to medium reviews of business requests for data product enhancements and collaborates with business requestor to understand the business value and use case of requested enhancement.

Develops and maintains end-user training materials and data dictionaries. Deliver simple training instruction to end-users.

Designs testing procedures to confirm delivered features meet requirements.

Documents and executes moderate to complex software data & analytics test cases.

Support the planning and execution of software testing. Prepares and facilitates UAT of data products.

Introduces enhancements for supported data & analytics solutions that would create value for the organization.

Creates and maintains simple to moderately-complex data queries and reports to provide data analysis tools to system users and stakeholders.

Performs business analysis tasks as a member of a project team.

Preferred Bachelor's Degree accounting, finance, business administration, computer science, MIS, or other related field, or an equivalent combination of formal education and the following job-related experience:

Experience and/or training related to Enterprise applications.

Configure applicable systems software.

Experience Relative To

- Desktop application/hardware

- Interpersonal communications

- System security administration

- SQL Query skills

Identify, research, and analyze systems software problems, and perform systems evaluation.

Review manuals, journals, system reports, and correspondence.

Research, prepare and compose systems operating procedures and documentation, reports, and correspondence.

Demonstrated ability to interact, advise, guide, train, and communicate effectively.

Demonstrated ability to develop and present information to individuals and groups.

Demonstrated ability with application of arithmetic and computer math.

Read and write fluently in English.

Preferred Applicable Driver's License

Mobility to travel in and around office facilities system wide.

Communicate and exchange information or instructions and conduct oral presentations.

Visual Abilities To Perform Job Responsibilities. Additional Preferred Qualifications:

Understanding of data architecture, ETL pipelines and data warehousing (e.g., Snowflake).

Familiarity with SQL and data modeling.

Ability to manage multiple priorities across various business groups.

Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum or Kanban), including:Writing clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.

Collaborating with engineering teams during sprint planning and daily stand ups.

Testing and validating acceptance criteria to ensure delivered features meet requirements.

Proficiency in reporting and visualization tools such as Power BI.
