HOW WILL YOU HELP DRIVE THE FUTURE OF NATURAL GAS?
The Business Development Manager - Residential, under minimum supervision, builds and maintains relationships with new and established residential builders, developers, project engineers and related architects. Assist the Manager of Residential Growth in designing and implementing sales strategies and identifying potential growth areas. Supports company efforts to increase sales of natural gas. Acts as the liaison between the company, contractors, Gas Advantage Dealers, architects, engineers and residential builders and developers. May require statewide sales coverage depending on market conditions or as directed by management.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field and 5 years’ experience performing similar Duties & Responsibilities of this position. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree an additional 4 years of related experience may be considered.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Strong leadership and negotiation skills. Proven ability to solicit business through cold calling, in-person meetings and market research data
- Responsible for signing agreements with single family and multi-family builders and developers. Maintains relationships with existing and potential residential builders and developers in the assigned market areas. Responsible for maintaining residential data utilizing our Customer Relationship Management System (CRM).
- Serves as the primary point of contact for residential projects and developments. Maintains relationships with key builders and developers statewide.
- Continuously communicates with management, operations and team to ensure proper delivery of our services on time and exceed our customer expectations.
- Consults with residential builders, developers/ on current market conditions, areas for natural gas expansion and other potential growth opportunities
- Coordinates all pre-and-post-sales efforts with engineering and construction, operations and the Manager Residential Growth.
- Gains trust and credibility as an industry expert by understanding the energy industry and by providing solutions for our residential builders and developers.
- Responsible for providing market intel, long-term residential growth planning and the coordination of marketing events to promote the benefits of natural gas.
- Attend and participate in builder / developer events (i.e. , builder association events, education seminars, marketing events). Performs all other duties as assigned.

- Knowledge of Peoples Gas’ products and services, the natural gas / energy industry, and the Florida housing market
