Position Summary

The Production Department is responsible for the delivery of quality Point Eight Power products in a timely manner in order to support our efforts of being a best-in-class manufacturer. The overall objective of this position is to provide high quality craftsmanship when fabricating copper bus and similar conductive material using best in class installation techniques in order to contribute to a team focused on achieving industry leading cycle time, delivering superior quality, and assisting in reducing per unit costs. Consistent and accurate representation of the Point Eight Power brand, mission, vision, values, and organizational strategy are essential to achieving the goals of the organization.


Essential Accountabilities

Demonstrate an entry-level of proficiency in executing workmanship in areas of fabricating copper bus bars or other metal materials to include pressing, stamping, bending and plating, forming objects for low to high voltage applications into enclosures, per drawing packages and instructions defined by the Engineering Department.
Properly store and separate bus bars according to size, thickness, or job number for ease during the Bus Assembly phase of projects.
Offer guidance and knowledge as an individual contributor to others when working on complex projects or participating in cross-functional teams.
Interpret and apply basic manufacturing knowledge and principles while reading specifications to make determinations on bussing parts, methods, sequencing under the advice or supervision of senior team members.
Maintain a safe, clean and well-organized work area by complying with safety procedures, rules, quality standards and best practices, and relying on pre-established guidelines or directions from senior team members to perform tasks optimally.

Qualifications


Education/Certifications

High School Diploma or GED, required.


Experience

1 to 2 years of work experience fabricating copper bus, or similar materials, into electrical control equipment in a manufacturing facility, Required.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Production and Processing — Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
Mechanical — Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Tools include screw drivers, ratchet and sockets, crimpers, wiring cutters, tape measure, ban saw, air tools, and inspection mirror.
Active Listening — The ability to give full attention to when others speak and taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate and not interrupting at inappropriate times.

Multi-limb Coordination - The ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting, standing, or lying down. It does not involve performing the activities while the whole body is in motion.
Near Vision - The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).

Physical Demands/Working Conditions

Physical Requirement: Demanding. Must have ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Employee must be at to sit, climb or balance, hear, use hands, taste/smell, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, stand, walk, talk, and reach with hands and arms.

Working Conditions: Conditions in manufacturing: can be high heat, high humidity, exposure to electrical shock and mechanical parts, exposure to radiation, exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals with fumes and/or airborne particles.


Overtime: Required

Hours: Monday to Friday 6am to 5pm, Must be open to working some weekends
